Poems Published in Sixfold

I’m thrilled to announce that five of my poems are now out in Sixfold’s Poetry Winter 2020 issue! I supplied a link to the main page, then you can scroll down to the poetry issue and pick the format that works best for you. This contest was a lot of fun - I learned so much by reading work by other wonderful poets and getting feedback from them! I highly recommend trying it if you have the time. They also have a fiction issue.

I titled my collection “The Two Hearts Inside Us and Other Poems,” but it also appears on the Sixfold site as “Mala and Others.” The poems in the collection are:

  • “Mala” - I wrote this during a writing retreat at Crestone Mountain Zen Center led by Sandy Dorr.

  • “Columbus Goes to the Moon”

  • “The Duration” - I wrote this during the first days of the pandemic, then added part II just before Christmas.

  • “New Year”

  • “The Two Hearts Inside Us” - When my daughter was in first grade, we read a book about stems, which made me start thinking about roots, and this poem was born.
